decide what you will use them for. This will have significant impact
on the list provider you should select.
If you will be mailing out personalized expensive
hard copy messages then you need a list with incredible
accuracy. Why? Simple. It's expensive to mail hard copy because
of the postage component so you want to make sure the list is accurate.
In this case you will have to spend significantly more money on a list.
It would be unwise to purchase your list from discount brokers as they
can often have inaccuracy rates as high as 30%.
The inaccuracy rates are higher for cheaper lists for one simple reason.
Providers selling lists at one dollar per lead can afford to staff employees that
will regularly telephone verify each leads information. Discount list brokers
that are selling leads for pennies simply could not offer the low prices that they offer if they had to perform the same level of service.
If the business list will be used for research, cold calling,
or fax broadcast then I would suggest not paying a fortune
for the "perfect" list as this can cost you one dollar per lead!
Non human verified lists on the other hand will have some failure rate but considering their low cost, the failure rate will likely be very acceptable.
For perfect but very expensive lists you can use the postal service
or some companies you can find online by searching "business lists".
Just remember that if you don't want to spend too much money
and some failure rate is acceptable due to your method of using the
list then you can save a lot of money by buying a cheaper list with
more records even if that list is not perfect.
